2022-06-08: Abandoned Bicycle Abatement: University Residence Halls and Apartment Complexes (On Behalf of Alex Yao, UC Santa Barbara Chief of Police)

RE:   Abandoned Bicycle Abatement:  University Residence Halls

         and Apartment Complexes

 

The UC Santa Barbara Community Service Organization (CSO) will be conducting an abandoned bicycle abatement around the Residence Halls, Apartments, and Dining Commons.  Bicycle abatement efforts will begin on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, and are scheduled to be completed by Friday, June 24, 2022.

If you don't plan to keep your bike, please consider donating it to St. George Youth Center in IV, Bici Centro - SB Bike Coalition, or the GIVE Benefit Sale.

All bicycles that are not affixed with a yellow tag will be considered abandoned and subject to impound.  Please avoid parking your bicycles near these resident complexes without the required tag during this limited time.  If you need a tag, please reach out to your HDAE department contact.

If interested in storing your bike with CSOs over the summer, read below:

CSO Office will be open for one week to assist with bike storage: Monday, June 6 - Friday,       June 10 (12:00 pm – 3:00 pm).

 

Location:  Behind the Public Safety Building on the corner of Mesa and Stadium Roads.

Cost:  $30.00 for summer storage and an additional $10.00 to register your bicycle (unless already registered).

Last day to retrieve your bike if CSO summer bicycle storage:  Friday, September 30, 2022, (12:00 pm – 3:00 pm).

 

Notes:

·   Bicycles will be stored outdoors.

·   Registered owner must be present to store and pick-up the bicycle.
