Re:  Opening Event for 2024-2025 DEI Lecture Series

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is excited to welcome you to the opening event of our Servingness Series, an event series where we explore innovative strategies for better serving our communities. While rooted in the context of Hispanic Serving Institutions, Servingness provides a deeply intersectional, community-centered framework that prioritizes high-impact practices of mentorship, fosters a culture of care, and promotes holistic success while embracing individuals’ cultural backgrounds and knowledge systems.

When: Wednesday, November 20, 12pm-1pm

Where: Mosher Alumni House, 2104

Register: https://cglink.me/2dD/r2263941

Our opening lecture will be led by campus leaders Gauchos for Recovery. Gauchos For Recovery works to support students who are interested in examining or shifting their relationship to substances, as well as providing harm reduction efforts to our community. In this presentation, we hope community members will learn about our program, and come to understand the lived experience of students in recovery. People in recovery are often underrepresented at the collegiate level, and may be under served. At this presentation, you'll have the opportunity to become part of a network of informed, "recovery-ready" allies. As our team often says, a campus safer for students in recovery is a campus safer for all.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!
