RE: Abandoned Bicycle Abatement: University Residence Halls and Apartment Complexes
Student Safety Partners (SSPs) will be conducting an abandoned bicycle abatement around the Residence Halls, Apartments, and Dining Commons.
Please read the information below carefully.
A tag will be attached to the front wheel of the bike and the rack during the dates of Monday, June 16 – Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Clear signage will also be posted.
On Sunday, July 6, at noon, any remaining bikes with a tag in the racks will be considered abandoned and will be impounded.
If you believe your bike has been impounded, please call the CSO/SSP Office at 805-893-5293 to confirm. The cost to retrieve your bike from impound is $24.00 if registered and an additional $10 registration fee if it has not been previously registered.
If you don't plan to keep your bike, please consider donating it to St. George Youth Center in IV, Bici Centro, or the GIVE Benefit Sale.
