Transportation & Parking Services would like to share information regarding upcoming parking lot maintenance projects between Saturday, August 2 and Friday, September 19. These projects have been scheduled with a great deal of care to minimize disruptions to campus operations. This necessary maintenance will extend the life of the asphalt in the parking lot and prevent costly future repairs. Project Overview Each individual project consists of a full crack seal, slurry seal, and a full re-striping of all parking stall lines, directional arrows, and safety markings in each lot. LOT 24: August 4 through August 8 Adjacent buildings: Carrillo Dining Commons and San Rafael Hall LOT 52 (San Clemente Villages): August 11 through August 13 Adjacent buildings: San Clemente (Castaic and Donner Villages) LOT 65 Front (Sierra Madre Villages): August 18 through August 22 LOT 23: August 25 through August 29 Adjacent buildings: San Rafael Hall, The Club & Guest House, Student Resource Building LOT 6: September 2 through September 5 Adjacent buildings: Marine Science Building and Santa Cruz Residence Hall LOT 42 (Orfalea Children’s Center): September 18 & 19 To complete this process most expediently, most areas will be completely closed during the scheduled maintenance dates, with some exceptions. Exceptions: Lot 6 will be completed in two phases, with approximately half of the parking stalls to remain available to allow for limited staff and coastal access parking at all times. Lot 23 will maintain access for deliveries to the back of the University Center as well as the Club & Guest House. Pre-warning signs will be posted one week ahead of each closure. All vehicles must be removed from the parking lots listed above on the dates indicated by the posted signs. Vehicles not removed before the posted notifications will be impounded at the owner’s expense. If you plan to be on campus during these time frames, please plan accordingly and park in other areas. If you have questions or need to arrange for event-related parking issues, please email tps-events@ucsb.edu. |
