Re: Annual Fire Alarm System Test & Emergency Evacuation Exercise
Life Safety Services (LSS), in conjunction with the Office of the Campus Fire Marshal, will perform annual fire alarm system testing and emergency evacuation exercises beginning Monday, September 15 through Friday, September 19, between the hours of 7:15 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day. The attached testing schedule denotes the dates and time frames in which occupants should expect emergency testing and mandatory evacuation to occur.
Although the schedule shows the testing to conclude on Thursday, September 18, the testing will run through Friday, September 19 in order to accommodate changes to the schedule as well as retesting systems as necessary.
At the sound of the fire alarm signal all staff, faculty, students and visitors must exit the building immediately and congregate at the assigned Emergency Assembly Point. The Department Safety Representative (DSR) is responsible to ensure evacuation of all personnel once the test begins, then report to the Emergency Assembly Point to await re-entry authorization from a campus official.

If the evacuation exercise interferes with critical building operations, first contact the department Management Services Officer (MSO). The MSO may decide to reschedule the test with Ray Gonzales, Life Safety Services Representative by calling 805.451.8993. Any changes must be made no later than Wednesday, September 10.
