Engineering’s wired network has remained operational during the wifi outage. Wired networks do require registration. Wired networks are also faster than Wifi. 1GB/S (1000 MB/s) vs 10-100 MB/s even when Wifi is not having issues. While some departmental subnets do have small guest pools, they are all in use, hence unregistered devices may be getting “no IP available” errors despite the underlying wired network being fine.
