Purpose

Defining what the Google Team Drive Settings that are available

Settings

Sharing Outside University of California, Santa Barbara

This setting is whether or not the contents in the Team Drive can be shared with users who do not have a UCSB Connect account.

By default, Files/Folders can be shared to people outside of UCSB by Team Drive Members with Contributor or higher permissions.

If you wish to restrict it to people within UCSB, this can be changed by Right Clicking on the Team Drive and selecting Team Drive Settings and then clicking on EDIT next to Sharing outside University of California, Santa Barbara and setting it to Only people inside University of California, Santa Barbara can be given access to the files in this Team Drive.

This setting should be set to Only people inside University of California, Santa Barbara can be given access to the files in this Team Drive if any of the documents in the Team Drive will contain FERPA Information or data that should not be shared outside of Campus.

Sharing with Non-Members

This setting is whether or not the contents in the Team Drive can be shared with users who are not members of the Team Drive.

By default, Files/Folders can be shared to Non-Team Drive Members by Team Drive Members with Contributor or higher permissions.

If you wish to restrict it to people within the team, this can be changed by Right Clicking on the Team Drive and selecting Team Drive Settings and then clicking on EDIT next to Sharing outside University of California, Santa Barbara and setting it to Only members of this Team Drive can access files in this Team Drive.

Download, copy, and print

This setting is whether or not the content in the Team Drive can be Downloaded, Copied or printed by Commenters or Viewers.

By default, all Team Drive Members can Download, Copy to the Google Drive or Print any files or folders they have access to in the Team Drive.

If you wish to prevent Commenters and Viewers from doing this, it can be changed by Right Clicking on the Team Drive and selecting Team Drive Settings and then clicking on EDIT next to Download, copy, and print and then selecting Prevent commenters and viewers from downloading, copying, and printing files in this Team Drive.
