This is a quick guide to setup Outlook (Mac) to UCSB Connect for Mail.  At this time, Outlook for Mac is unable to connect to the UCSB Connect Calendar.

You will want to have done Setting Up Connect Account for Mail Clients before proceeding so that Outlook can connect to your UCSB Connect Mail.

First, when you start Outlook, you will want to go to Outlook in the menu and go to Preferences

You will get the following window:

Select Accounts to get the following screen:

Click on the Other Email button.

You will then be prompted for your Email and password.  But before you do this, uncheck Configure Automatically, as we will need to put the configuration information manually.

It should look similar to this:

The information should be set as the following:

Field

Information

User Name

(Your UCSB Connect Email)

Type

IMAP

Incoming Server

imap.google.com

Override default port

Unchecked

Use SSL to connect (recommended)

Checked

Outgoing Server

smtp.gmail.com

Override default port

Unchecked

Use SSL to connect (recommended)

Checked

Then click on Add Account

Once it is created, we need to do one more step…  Click on the More Options… button on the account so you get the following window:

Change Authentication to Use Incoming Server Info.

Again – At this time, the Calendaring and Contacts links for Outlook for Mac is currently not available until later in 2017 when they update Outlook 2016 for Mac.
