What is git, GitHub.com, and GitHub Enterprise?

Git is a distributed revision control system used by collaborators to share and contribute files in repositories (repos) with advanced features like full version tracking and history.

Github.com is a public web-based hosting service that offers free accounts and paid plans for private repos.

GitHub Enterprise

GitHub Enterprise is similar to GitHub’s public service but is privately hosted and offers free private repositories.
