I get "Connection Refused" when trying to connect to CSIL/Linux Machines remotely.
Problem
When you try to connect to one of the CSIL or Linux computers remotely, you get:
Connection Refused
But you can ping the machine or able to connect to one of the other CSIL/Linux Machines.
Reason
One of the following may have happened
- You may have failed to log onto the computer a few too many times.
- You are using an application that tried too many times to log onto the machine with the wrong credentials.
Solution
The CSIL and Linux systems have a dynamic firewall that will block an offending machine remote machine from accessing it for a period of time.
For security reasons, the period of time will not be disclosed other than to try again at a later time.
We recommend that if you were kicked off while you were online, you may want to check your computer for any applications that may try and connect to the system you were on and clear any credentials on it or simply turn the application off to prevent possible issues later.
